House Rules

Adapted from Italian calcio balilla practice (FICB-style) for the Banshees Pizza Pool Party — one table, keep it fast and fair.

How you win a match

  • · First team to 7 goals wins the match.
  • · At deuce (66, then 77, …) you need doppio vantaggio — a 2-goal lead (win by 2).
  • · No draws. Keep playing until the win rule is met.
  • · Live scoreboard updates in real time from Admin. After each match the admin chooses the next pairing.
  • · The FINAL is best of 3 — first team to win 2 games (each game still first to 7, win by 2) crowns the champions.

Examples: 7–3 wins · 7–5 wins · 76 continues · 86 wins.

Goals

  • · A goal counts when the ball fully enters the goal.
  • · If the ball goes in and bounces back out, it still counts.
  • · After a goal, the scored-on team serves (restarts play).
  • · A goal after a full 360° spin of a rod is not valid (no spinning).

Serve & start

  • · Coin toss (or rock-paper-scissors) chooses side / first serve.
  • · Serve from midfield; wait for both teams to be ready (“via”).
  • · Ball should touch a second figure before a direct shot on goal from the serve.

Fair play (party mode)

  • · No lifting or shaking the table.
  • · Dead ball: restart from midfield by mutual agreement.
  • · One short timeout per team per match if needed (pizza break counts).
  • · Positions (defense / attack) can switch after a goal conceded.
  • · Admin / table host has final say — keep the party moving.

Tournament format

  • · Single elimination · one foosball table.
  • · Teams of 2 players.
  • · Best fit for ~1 hour: 6–8 teams (9 works with a play-in).
  • · Odd counts use a PLAY-IN / RIPESCAGGIO: extra teams play a preliminary match; winner enters the main power-of-two draw; loser is out. Example: 9 teams → 1 play-in + 8-team bracket.
  • · Final: best of 3 games. All other rounds: single game.
  • · Late registration allowed; admin can rebuild the bracket to include new teams.
